SoftBank Group has announced a monumental investment of up to €75 billion to develop and operate 5 gigawatts of AI data center capacity in France. This commitment, the largest AI infrastructure investment by SoftBank in Europe, aims to establish France as a leading hub for artificial intelligence infrastructure and support the continent's technological sovereignty. The initial phase will see €45 billion invested to deliver 3.1 gigawatts of capacity in the Hauts-de-France region by 2031, with sites planned in Dunkirk, Bosquel, and Bouchain.
