Trump Urges John Fetterman to Switch to Republican Party Ahead of Midterms
President Donald Trump has openly urged Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania to switch to the Republican Party, praising the lawmaker as Republicans seek to safeguard their Senate majority. Trump made the direct appeal at Joint Base Andrews, citing Fetterman's high-profile breaks with Democratic orthodoxy and asserting he would perform better in the GOP. Fetterman has dismissed previous speculation about defecting, maintaining that he remains a Democrat who continues to vote with his party the vast majority of the time.
