Snap and AI search startup Perplexity have "amicably ended" their $400 million partnership, which would have integrated Perplexity's AI search engine into Snapchat. The deal, announced in November, was intended to bring conversational AI to Snapchat's chat interface but never fully rolled out to users. Both companies stated the original implementation was not the right fit for their product goals.
