Valve Open-Sources Lepton Compatibility Layer to Bring Android Titles to Linux and Steam
Valve has publicly released the source code for Lepton, a containerized Android compatibility tool designed to run mobile operating system titles directly within Linux and the Steam client. Originally built to bridge standalone virtual reality titles from Meta Quest to the newly launched Snapdragon-powered Steam Frame headset, the open-source software strips Android down to its bare essentials for gaming. The move establishes a three-pronged software translation stack alongside Proton and FEX, broadening the reach of SteamOS across diverse hardware architectures.
